SharkNinja approached me to help them put together a shoot for one of their new marquee product, the Ninja Blast portable blender. This was to be a high profile release and needed a campaign to go along. The creative team had a good jump on the concept. The director, Kip Hewitt, as well as myself and the production team added and helped shape it to what it eventually became… A Golden Addy award winning spot.
The challenges for this project were mostly centered around the ballooning of the scope. It was initially just a sizzle shoot. But then a photo shoot was added to the project, with additional budget. On top of that, a social media shoot was added. And finally, short form paid-ads to round things out.
By taking this in stride, staying flexible, and piggy backing these shoots into our production locations and accommodating the additional talent, crew, and equipment, I was able to lead the team in successfully pulling off the whole campaign. While producing the commercial/sizzle shoot, I also directed the photo shoot and paid-ads, as well as oversaw the social shoot. And we had a BLAST doing it.
This project resulted in a ton of assets for the marketing team to utilize for a very successful launch of the Ninja BLAST product that exceeded sales forecasts. I’m proud to have been a part of it.
